Who goes to Family Summer?
Family Summer is open to all families with children 0-15 years old. Families wishing to come with children older than 15 can participate only if those children are separately admitted to be part of the team of counselors.
I have 4 children under 8 years old, how can this be a vacation for us?
This is precisely the vacation for you! You will have some nice counselors that will take care of your kids while you can spend some time with your spouse or visit with friends. And you will have no cooking to do, as all 3 meals will be taken care of. What can beat that?
How many Families attend Family Summer?
Between 30 and 35 families attend Family Summer.
How many parenting sessions will there be?
Five mornings (about 2.5hrs. each) will be dedicated to Parenting classes. No sessions are planned for the day of arrival or departure.
Is participation in the parenting sessions mandatory?
Participation in parenting sessions is highly encouraged. These sessions are a lot of fun, they spur conversation and develop friendships; we can't think of a reason why someone would want to miss a session.
What activities are planned the days that there are no Parenting classes?
A whole day excursion to Piney Lake Ranch (an hour drive from Beaver Creek) on one day, and a rafting trip down the Colorado river on another day.
Will there be enough time to spend as a family?
Of course! Spending time as a family is one of the objectives of Family Summer. For the most part, afternoons will be unstructured, with the possibility of doing different hikes, horseback riding, walking around Beaver Creek village, enjoying the hotel or relaxing by the pool.

What are the average low and high temperatures in Beaver Creek in August?
Low: 42°F, High: 74°F.
How much does it rain?
In the Rockies, weather can change quickly and it can rain a little bit every day, although usually not the entire day. It is a good idea to take rain jackets or ponchos during hikes.
What clothes and other items should we bring to Beaver Creek?
Fleece jacket, rain jacket/poncho, rain boots for kids or extra pair of sneakers, swimsuit, water shoes/sandals for rafting, flashlight, small backpack for hikes and day trips, water bottles (for adults and kids) or camelback backpacks, altitude sickness medicine. Check the packing list section.
For clothing planning purposes, is there a laundromat nearby?
There are two coin laundry washers and dryers at the hotel.
Is there internet or WiFi at the Pines Lodge?
Yes, there is a business center with high speed connections and free WiFi throughout the hotel.
If we fly to Denver, what are our options to get to Beaver Creek?
Epic Mountain Express shuttles to Beaver Creek are available to/from Denver Airport. It costs about $90/per person one way.
You can also rent a car at the airport and ride to Beaver Creek (130 miles). It takes about two hours in normal traffic plus the time to get the rental car.
HOWEVER:
Once in Beaver Creek, there is a complimentary shuttle service for all guests staying in the resort, so a car is not needed. Guests may ask their lodging concierge to arrange pick-up or drop-off times anywhere within the resort, or call Village Transportation to make arrangements at: (970) 949-1938
A car will be needed in two occasions (Rafting day and Piney Lake Ranch): you can rent a car in the town of Avon.
